When a patient is admitted to the hospital information system, a ticket is automatically printed out via the cleverQ desktop printer of the admitting department, which internally contains the patient number. Based on the patient’s admission parameters, the patient is automatically assigned to the correct queue. When the patient is treated, the attending physician moves the patient from the virtual waiting room of the hospital information system to a virtual treatment room; as soon as this happens, the ticket number is called up on the monitor.
